South of the Île de Ré :
Between woods and vineyards, linking the communes of Bois-Plage en Ré, Saint-Martin-de-Ré, La Flotte en Ré, Sainte-Marie-de-Ré and Rivedoux PLage.
Along the coast between Saint-Martin-de-Ré and La Couarde-sur-Mer, continue your walk towards the north of the island to reach Loix via the salt marshes and cross the Moulin à Marée footbridge. Best done in the morning to make the most of the light.
North of the Île de Ré :
Ars en Ré, Loix, Saint-Clément-des-Baleines and Les Portes en Ré. The cycle paths pass through the salt marshes, where you can watch the salt workers harvesting fleur de sel or coarse salt using the souvron and simoussi. Pedal up to the Phare des Baleines (Whale lighthouse), from the top of which you’ll enjoy the most beautiful panorama on the Ile de Ré. A privileged nesting site, cross the Lilleau des Niges reserve at Les Portes en Ré and observe the many species of birds. Let yourself be carried back to the village and take a swim at Trousse-Chemise beach.
