Le Bois Plage is situated on the île de Ré, meaning in the department of Charente-Maritime. Historically, Le Bois Plage is one of the eldest beach resorts. It is known for the beaches carrying the 2014 Pavillon Bleu, spreading over almost 6 kilometres, but also for its daily market that brings the village to life. This market takes place from 1 April to 30 September. It is one of the most popular holiday destinations of the area. Holidaymakers and tourists can practise water sports here as the beach is set behind the dunes. On the other side, thanks to the linaria, the beach dianthus and the flora, the coast is protected during storms. When it comes to water sports that can be practised here: sailing, swimming, surfing and windsurfing. Outdoor sports: tennis, cycling, hiking and angling.
Thanks to the mild climate, Le Bois Plage can be visited all year round. Besides the beautiful landscapes and extraordinary beaches, the village offers its visitors other surprises like cultural events, outings in nature, sports or visits to monuments like the Saint-Barthélémy-du-Bois church, the mill of Bellere au Morinand dating from before 1627 and the wine cooperation ‘coopérative vinicole des Vignerons de l’île de Ré’. Here you can enjoy unforgettable moments and most of all a holiday with your family or as a couple. In Le Bois Plage, you’ll find accommodation, hire of materials, restaurants etc. for all budgets.
