To be visited in Saint-Clément-des-Baleines if you come to the campsite

The 19th century Whale Lighthouse is one of the largest monuments to discover in Saint Clément des Baleines. At a height of 57 metres, cross the 257 steps that lead to the top of this lighthouse on earth to admire a breathtaking view of the superb beaches of the Conche and the Wild Coast as well as the forest and salt marshes.

Another one but on the sea is also present in Saint Clément les baleines. It is the Lighthouse of the Whales, 31 meters high, 4 km from the coast. This lighthouse was built to warn sailors of the dangers of rocky bottoms.

The Tour des Baleines, dating from the 17th century, classified as a historical monument in 1904, is also open to visitors.
More than a thousand years ago, fishing on foot was very popular on the Ile de Ré. Fishermen used fish locks to trap fish at low tide. Today, you can still see the last lock of Saint Clément des Baleines: “La Moufette”.

You will also discover an interesting pyramid in this Rhétais village. This 4-metre high building was used as a daytime bitterness for navigation.

Hiking enthusiasts can explore the trails of the Forêt domaniale de Lizay or the Shirt Kit for a discovery of nature.

The Conche beach, several kilometres long, seduces families with its fine sandy beaches and the various water sports it offers. In the shelter of the wooded dunes, enjoy the soft rays of sunshine and relax in a paradisiacal setting.
