Sainte Marie de Ré is the oldest village on the Ile de Ré .
Located on the south coast of the island , it is known for its agricultural activities and wild coasts.
In the same way, the village charms by its authenticity and its traditional style.
Coming down from the bridge, you can easily recognize it thanks to its steeply pointed bell tower.
This superb bell tower of the Gothic style dates from the 14th century.

This Rhetais village has a rich and remarkable nature. It is one of the most important agricultural communes on the island of Ré with its vineyards and fields. This former fishing village has preserved its traditions with fish locks that are still arranged by fishermen on foot on the coast. By visiting the village along its alleys, you can admire the typical houses.
Sainte Marie de Ré is also an ideal starting point to discover the island of Aix, the island of Oleron and Fort Boyard.
