In the heart of the Loix peninsula, the whole tradition of salt culture on the island of Ré is revealed to you in the Museum. Then, walk around an active salt marsh to discover how it works, the profession of saunier…, as well as the specific flora that makes up this marsh such as salicorne or mustard. The shop allows you to buy salt and fleur de sel.
From March 10 to April 18, the Ecomusée des Marais Salants welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
From April 19 to June 15, it opens its doors from Tuesday to Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
From June 16 to September 17, you can visit the ecomuseum every day from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm.
From September 18 to November 2, the ecomuseum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
It should be noted that the last visit begins 70 minutes before closing time. The annual closure of the Salt Marshes Ecomuseum will take place on the 2nd of July.
