Facing south, it’s also a popular spot for fishing at low tide. Its long stretches of sand offer a playground for all generations: kite flying, family bathing and bodyboarding. <\/p>

The south beach of Rivedoux Plage<\/span><\/h2>

From the bridge over the Ile de R\u00e9 to the Pointe de Chauveau, the southern beach is ideal for swimming and offers a unique panorama. You can enjoy the water even at low tide. Family-friendly, the beach is supervised in season and has a children’s club for ages 5 to 11. <\/p>

The north beach of Rivedoux Plage<\/span><\/h2>

Popular at both low and high tide, Rivedoux’s northern beach is a favorite with anglers and surfcasters. Its promenade stretches along the village from the bridge. At high tide, surfers and other water sports enthusiasts gather here. <\/p>

On the coast of La Couarde, the island’s historic seaside resort, the Peu Ragot beach is the only one in the commune where bathing is supervised. Naturally, it’s the most family-friendly: it also has a beach club for children, a nautical center, sanitary facilities and free parking. <\/p>

Gros Jonc<\/span> beach<\/h2>

The most popular of Bois-Plage-en-R\u00e9’s beaches, Gros Jonc is a pleasant stretch of fine sand bordering a calm sea that’s perfect for swimming. Awarded the Pavillon Bleu label, it is also home to two sailing schools offering a wide range of activities for all ages. <\/p>

Swimming is supervised in July and August. The beach is very well equipped, with toilets, showers, tiralos, free parking nearby and the presence of bars and restaurants. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

La plage de la Cible<\/span><\/h2>

The only beach in Saint-Martin-de-R\u00e9, Plage de la Cible will charm you with its white beach huts available for rental in summer. Bordered by a beach restaurant, it also hosts a sailing school in season. <\/p>

The pergola<\/span> beach<\/h2>

In the renowned resort of La Couarde, La Pergola beach is both a surfing spot and a family beach, ideal for swimming. Unsupervised, it is equipped with sanitary facilities and free parking. <\/p>

There’s also kite flying, angling and fishing on foot. It offers a rejuvenating wilderness setting. <\/p><\/div><\/div>

Conche des Baleines<\/span> beach<\/h2>

Gollandi\u00e8res<\/span> beach<\/h2>

At Le Bois-Plage-en-R\u00e9, the Gollandi\u00e8res beach offers several kilometers of fine sand. Its length makes it ideal for a wide variety of activities: swimming and lounging, sand games, bodyboarding and surfing, sailing and windsurfing, as well as fishing on foot. <\/p>

Numerous facilities are available, including a supervised swimming area, an introductory pool, beach volleyball nets, an access ramp and tiralos for people with reduced mobility, sanitary facilities and a picnic area.<\/p>

The site hosts beach clubs for children, sailing schools and even a mobile library. The Gollandi\u00e8res beach has been awarded the Blue Flag label. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Arn\u00e9rault<\/span> beach<\/h2>

On the coast of La Flotte-en-R\u00e9, the Arn\u00e9rault beach is within walking distance of the village and the small listed port. Sheltered in a cove, it is ideal for family bathing. Bordered by a pretty promenade, l’Arn\u00e9rault beach offers 500 meters of fine sand for idleness and beach games. <\/p>

Swimming is supervised in summer, and water quality is carefully monitored. Two seahorse chairs are available for people with reduced mobility. <\/p>

There is also a ramp for access to the beach. La Flotte beach is also equipped with toilets and showers, a diving board in the supervised swimming area and a slipway. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Les Prises<\/span> beach<\/h2>

Another not-to-be-missed beach in the historic resort of La Couarde, Plage des Prises is bordered by dunes and Bois Henri IV. It enjoys a particularly enchanting setting and offers a magnificent panorama of the ocean, facing the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron. <\/p>

A long stretch of fine sand, the Prises beach is particularly well-suited to water sports. Sailing and windsurfing are particularly popular. Swimming is also very pleasant, but unsupervised. There are, however, permanent sanitary facilities and an access ramp. <\/p>

The beach is easy to reach by car from La Couarde in the direction of Ars-en-R\u00e9, with free parking nearby and a picnic area. It’s also easy to get to by bike, thanks to the cycle paths that run alongside it and link it to the village. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Trousse Chemise<\/span> beach<\/h2>

Facing the Trousse-Chemise forest, made famous by a Charles Aznavour song, this beach is both an unspoilt natural site and a family venue for water sports and water recreation.<\/p>

Bordered by the magnificent Banc du B\u00fbcheron promenade, Trousse-Chemise beach is ideal for strolling and relaxing, as well as swimming, sailing and fishing when the tide is out. Swimming is not supervised. <\/p>
